    Derwen CabinHafan CabinLlwynbwch Barn

This compact and cosy cabin sits under an old oak tree in a wildflower meadow. Fall asleep under the stars to the sound of owls. Wake up to birdsong and a woodland view. Both Hafan and Derwen cabins were lovingly built by us, with the help of a good friend.

The snug mezzanine double bed is above a comfy sofa area. There is a guitar, bluetooth speaker, books, board games and playing cards. A solar panel powers simple lighting for the cabin and USB charging sockets are provided to top up your phone.

The woodburner keeps the cabin warm, perfect for cwtching up with a good book! Cook on the woodburning stove or use the twin gas hob in the fully equipped mini kitchen. There is room to eat inside or outside on the deck. Derwen has its own BBQ and fire pit, perfect for cooking sausages or toasting marshmallows while you gaze at the incredible starry skies. The Brecon Beacons National Park was designated the first International Dark-Sky reserve in Wales in 2013.

Derwen has its own private composting toilet in a tiny wood clad hut. Stroll up to the farmhouse to find a modern wetroom shower and flushing loo. There is also a communal fridge freezer, pot washing area, electricity sockets and a wide range of info to help you discover the area and plan your trips, including OS maps, recommendations for places to visit and lots of leaflets.

If you fancy a stroll, head out from the cabin and walk down the public footpath to the small river or explore the woodlands at Llwynbwch. Depending on when you visit, you may see bluebells, wood anemones, orchids, marsh marigolds, roe deer and butterflies and you’re sure to see red kites and buzzards.

Don’t forget to bring your wellies/ walking boots and a torch!
