Light and airy, Llwynbwch Barn has been lovingly converted to a very high standard. Originally a hay barn, this is now a wonderful homely space.

It has strong green credentials with sheep’s wool insulation, lime plaster and a living roof on the limed extension. Furnished mainly with antique and mid-century pieces.

The main room has a cathedral-like vaulted ceiling with original beams and skylights to let the sun or star light stream in. The wood burner is a central feature with its spectacular chimney.

The private garden has been thoughtfully planted with native species. It faces west to catch the sun going down over the Fan, the nearby peak.

Llwynbwch Farm has been here since approximately 1810 and was originally a dairy farm.

‘Llwyn’ is the Welsh for a bush or grove. A ‘bwch’ is a buck or a ‘stook’, which is how people used to stack in the hay in years gone by. Llwynbwch Barn was originally the farm’s hay barn. These days we often see wild roe deer around the farm and local area – we like to think of these as the ‘bwch’.
