Wake up to nature

Unique places to stay on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in West Wales

Hafan Cabin

Hafan looks West across its meadow and captures wonderful sunsets over ‘the Fan’, the local hill. Enjoy starry skies from the deck, toast marshmallows around the campfire or cwtch up inside by the woodburner with a good book.

Llwynbwch Barn

Light and airy, Llwynbwch Barn has been lovingly converted to a very high standard. Originally a hay barn, this is now a wonderful homely space. The main room has a cathedral-like vaulted ceiling with skylights to let the sun or star light stream in. The wood burner is a central feature with its spectacular chimney.

Derwen Cabin

Derwen looks east, over the meadows and woods and across the valley towards the tiny village of Llansadwrn. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and perhaps catch a glimpse of deer. The cabin is light and airy by day and yet still snug and cosy by night.

  • Although we were only here for three and a half days, it felt so much longer! So easy to relax and unwind, especially without the distraction of the tv!! The only danger is spending all the time visiting all the beautiful attractions locally and not just having local walks! During our stay we visited the following and thoroughly enjoyed/ recommend them all: Dinefwr Castle & Reserve Colby woodland Garden Dolaucothi Goldmines Finally, many thanks to Lou for her advice and welcome. We have been treated very kindly everywhere we have been locally, despite our pronunciation of various place names! Looking forward to a return visit soon!

  • Thankyou for a very relaxing stay. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed the evening light very much. The stand out sight was Carreg Cennen with its wonderful views and dark, long cave. Playing with Adam & Lou's children was a highlight for Ava and Orla and Lou's welcome was fantastic!

  • Thankyou for a lovely, relaxing week in your beautiful barn. We've loved the peace and quiet and great places to visit nearby, as well as exploring your land. We'd recommend: -Climbing Llyn y Fan Fach - we found snow & had snowball fights! -Visiting Dinefwr Estate (NT), Llandeilo - good walk to the castle, bog walk and interactive house. -Going down the amazing caves at Carreg Cennen castle where we also saw twin lambs! -Exploring the Botanical Gardens and going on the waterfall walk. The butterfly house is great & we loved Wright's Food Emporium -Walking up the big hill opposite Under Starry Skies, there's good circle route & we met some lovely alpacas! -Finding the tree house and swing, a short walk from the barn Elliot & Oscar loved playing with Lou & Adam's children. We hope to come back, maybe in the spring/ summer. Thanks again!

  • Thankyou for a fantastic stay. We loved the barn very much. It is very cosy. The fire in the main room is gorgeous and also the smaller woodburner in the bedroom. We celebrated the New Year here and it was so much fun. We also visited the Gower peninsular (very beautiful), various castles and had some fabulous walks. The barn was perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Will definitely recommend to our friends. Happy New Year!

  • Our first stay at your beautiful barn and it was more amazing than we could have hoped for. From the log fire and open planned living room it made our early christmas gathering all the more special. We will definitely look to return! Thanks you so much.

  • This was our second stay in Llwynbwch Barn, our first with our four month old son. It’s just as cosy as we remember, with all details thought of. We’ve enjoyed our visit to Mwnt beach and Cardigan Bay, watching the Red kites at the feeding station and walking around Aberglasney Gardens. We’ve had some great coffee at the Ginhaus Deli and the Hangout. Llandeilo is just lovely. The barn has been incredible to stay in and we couldn’t have asked for more. We’d love to return again!

  • We really enjoyed our week here, lovely and quiet but plenty to do in the area. Highlights were Red Kite feeding and the Botanical Gardens. Good beach at Newport and good food at The Angel. The barn was comfortable and had all we needed. Great to have no tv. Thankyou!

  • This was our seventh time in the barn. Another wonderful week. We managed the whole hike of Llyn y Fan Fach this time. Definitely worth the effort for all the amazing views. We got to have sunday lunch at The Angel, Salem. Absolutely gorgeous! The Three Cliffs & Rhossili Bay remain our favourite beaches. As for the barn and its beautiful garden, what can I say? It is the most relaxing and tranquil place in the whole of Wales! We will be back again next year for our eighth visit. Big hugs
